More Than An Orthodontist, Meet Dr. Thomas

Dr. Thomas is of course an outstanding orthodontist but he has many other passions outside of the office! Here is a brief question and answer section to help you know the man behind the mask at your orthodontic appointments!!

Q: When you were younger did you always want to be an orthodontist?

A: Like a lot of kids, I wanted to be an astronaut when I was in elementary school. I knew I wanted to be in dentistry since about high school but didn't plan on specializing in ortho until I got to dental school. I took some introductory orthodontic classes and fell in love with it!

Q: In high school were you on any sports team, clubs, play an instrument, or do any extra curricular activities?

A: I ran track and cross country for a few years in high school. Also, I was on the quiz bowl team and played electric guitar with my friends.

Q: What is your favorite summer and winter activity?

A: In summer, I most enjoy golfing new golf courses around the state of Michigan. Also, just spending time outdoors with my family and doing short trips to many Michigan destinations. In winter, I like to ski and travel around the state as well.

Q: Where is your favorite place to vacation in Michigan?

A: I like visiting around Petoskey and Traverse City mostly. Detroit has a lot of fun places to visit as well. We try to get to a Tiger's game and go to some of the museums like the Science museum and other kid friendly tourist attractions.

Q: If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life what would it be?

A: Anything my wife makes is great!

Q: If you could have lunch with one person who would it be?

A: Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin. Greatest band of all time!

Q: What is your favorite part of being an orthodontist?

A: Meeting so many wonderful people who live in our community

Q: If you could live in any era of history what would it be and why?

A: Probably the 1960s and 70s to follow all the bands and rock music of that era.

Q: On the weekends what are your favorite things to do?

A: Spend time with my family at home and around town

Q: Since you opened in 2012 what have been some of your favorite memories?

A: Being able to offer free orthodontic treatment to many of the teenagers in our community who otherwise wouldn't have been able to.Also, seeing my office team grow and each person become more confident and utilize their talents to improve our office as a whole.
